Choy 65

This blue-water cruising yacht is a completely new design inspired by C/S/K classics from the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. This completely new rendering of a classic concept offers unexcelled ocean-cruising sea-worthiness, comfort and performance.

The essence of the Choy 65 is proven hull design, clean uncluttered lines including totally clean, level decks and companionways and a logical but comfortable general arrangement and amenities that afford accomodations for twelve persons. As always, our layouts are designed to work as well offshore as in port.

Construction is entirely foam-sandwich/composite for the optimum balance of strength, weight, low maintenence and Return-On-Investment. Twin diesel engines and feathering props provide ample power for maneuvering and motorsailing. Single or dual gensets provide ample power for a full complement of accessories and amenities.

Her sail plan is designed around a large fully-battened main sail, roller-furling headsail and rig options that include a fully-rotating wing spar or conventional fixed spar. All sail controls are via hydraulic winches.

In addition, numerous variations are available in the arrangement of the main saloon and below-decks accommodations to suit any intended application and lifestyle – we’ve shown one concept as merely a starting point.
